PROBATE OF ESTATES
Probate is the legal process of settling an estate after a person has passed away. A petition must be filed with the court and an executor appointed to oversee the disposition of the estate. If you have been appointed the executor of an estate, there are many challenges and legal requirements involved in resolving the disposition of assets.
The executor is responsible for an inventory and an appraisal of the assets of the deceased; protection of the estate’s assets; payment of the deceased's debts; and, the distribution of the remaining assets to the appropriate parties as required by law. If you are the executor of an estate, the Kelsay Law Firm can provide you with the legal guidance you need to perform the duties required.
